This month Graham has organised a run from                           Capel to the Golden Valley Tree Park Balingup .

Sunday 20th September Picnic or BBQ at Golden Valley Tree Park .

Golden Valley Tree Park is a sixty hectare landscaped park set in the picturesque hills of Balingup. The heritage listed site has a collection of trees that was begun over one hundred years ago, and is now the largest arboretum in WA.

The Park is a great place for short walks amongst some of the loveliest rural countryside in the heart of the South West.

The beautiful World Collection features many deciduous autumn colour favourites alongside rare and unusual specimens. Golden Valley’s Australian Collection showcases the wide diversity of Australian native tree associations from tall eucalypts through mallee woodlands to dry season deciduous species and a range of rare West Australian species. Many trees are labelled.

The fully restored Golden Valley Homestead (circa 1890) is located at the Park entrance and the Bibbulman Track runs through the Park as it heads south from Balingup.

10.00am Meet at the Capelberry Cafe for a coffee and cake , located at
20 Forrest RD Capel .

11.00am we will depart Capel for a leisurely drive through the country roads (sealed)
To the Golden Valley Tree Farm , arriving around midday.

Walk tracks are clearly labelled
Many of the trees are labelled in the field .maps and lists are provided at the shelters.
