Torquin’ Toolboxes

Friday 24-Jan-25 Clubrooms open at 16:00, with the meeting commencing @ 16:30, possibly finishing at 18:30.

Jaguar cars have a hierarchy of knowledge holders of which, I am a bottom feeder however, I’m also a sponge for knowledge of intimate details and toolbox meetings allow me to feed and disseminate of the extensive knowledge held by our elders (and not so old:). Our MK2 was one of those whose toolbox was pilfered, FOR A SOUVENIER, can you believe it! My search for an original 1959 MK2 toolbox, has been enlightening. I now have two, but they are both different, and still not the right one.

I’m inviting you to bring your toolboxes, toolrolls; full or empty, to the meeting where we will put them on display, to inspire discussion. The value of original toolboxes, nowadays, is skyrocketing and can sometimes exceed the value of the car it comes with.

We have an offer to display some of a collector’s extensive range of tools, boxes and rolls. I have two of Roger Payne’s definitive documents for identifying which tools, when and where.
