Join Ian and Michele for a thoroughly entertaining evening at the historic Old Mill Theatre for One for the Road, a wonderfully witty comedy by Willy Russell, the acclaimed author of Educating Rita.

What's the story?

Dennis is approaching his fiftieth birthday, and life has become rather predictable. The house, the neighbours, the social expectations — he's had enough!

Determined to escape his comfortable but suffocating suburban existence, Dennis packs his rucksack and prepares to make a dramatic departure. Unfortunately, his friends and family have other ideas.

Will Dennis finally break free, or will his grand adventure end before he's even reached the front door?

It's a hilarious look at middle age, missed opportunities and the eternal question: Is the grass really greener on the other side?

Please gather in the theatre foyer at 7-00pm before the performance, where a complimentary glass of port or sherry awaits. Tea and coffee will be served during intermission, with the curtain expected to fall around 10 pm.

A theatre with history

Built in 1899 as a Mechanics Institute Hall, the Old Mill Theatre has been entertaining audiences since 1948. Today, this charming heritage-listed venue remains one of South Perth's cultural treasures.
